Electric, gas, diesel or petrol?

Why make decisions at the time of COVID - 19 and what will the market look like after the pandemic?

Are you considering buying, renting or leasing a vehicle and don't know which vehicle drive to opt for? We can advise you.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people are opting for diesel engines in particular. The reason for this, apart from the long-term lower consumption compared to petrol engines, is the significant drop in the price of oil, so people are filling up their tank a few euros cheaper than before the pandemic broke out. However, this situation and the price of oil is not sustainable in the long term. It has already bounced back from its low point in mid-April and is slowly but surely gaining value again. Once the pandemic is over, oil will gain significantly in value and fuel prices will undoubtedly exceed their peak again. In addition to the oil price, which is having a significant impact on the market, European states will certainly use the pandemic to further tighten emission standards for entry into cities or countries, and the regulation from Brussels will only continue to get tougher.

Fortunately, nowadays more and more people are looking at the ecology and cleanliness of our planet. That's why hybrid or electric vehicles are also starting to thrive in the automotive world. After all, electric vehicles are green. In addition, vehicles with minimal or even zero emissions bring less bustle to towns and cities. And last but not least, owning or leasing a vehicle with a combined or pure electric drive brings a growing number of benefits to individuals and businesses. And thanks also to government support for electromobility, these attractions for opting for an electric vehicle will certainly continue to grow.

In the points below you can read the most important facts:

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, a huge advantage and a rapidly advancing and decisive factor for the acquisition of an electric vehicle is the expanding network of charging stations in Slovakia. A few dozen months ago, people were discouraged from getting an electric car by the fact that there were not enough charging stations in the area and electric cars did not offer very dazzling ranges on a full charge. However, automakers are making steady progress in electromobility, and vehicles are now providing ranges that people already feel comfortable with. In addition, the state will provide subsidies to encourage the expansion of charging station infrastructure. Now, every developer must also think about which places to reserve for these vehicle owners or holders when renovating or constructing new buildings.

We at AVIS are also thinking green, which is why we have recently added the first Volvo XC60 T8 eAWD plug-in hybrid and, most importantly, the all-new Renault ZOE R135 Z.E. 52 kWh electric vehicle to our AVIS MaxiRent range.

In addition, in cooperation with www.zsedrive.sk, we will include with every ordered vehicle a card for charging the vehicle in the entire network of charging stations, which already has a very good representation in Slovakia J - MAP. So what do you say?
